The Trunk guarantee

We’ve done our best to take the stress and anxiety out of buying and selling pre-loved styles, with our kevlar-clad Trunk guarantee. Here’s how it works:

Payment protection

When someone buys something on Trunk, we won’t release the payment to the seller until the buyer confirms they got what they paid for, and that it matches the sale description.

The 24-hour approval window

Once the buyer receives the item, they’ve got 24 hours to confirm it matches the description the seller gave – once they give the nod, we’ll release the payment to the seller.

We’ll also release the seller’s payment if those 24 hours have passed and we haven’t heard from the buyer.

Resolving issues

If a buyer thinks they haven’t got what they paid for, we’ll work with them to assess the situation. 

If we agree that the item doesn’t match the seller’s description, we’ll step them through returning the item to the seller. The seller covers the cost of return shipping, assuming they want the item returned.

Once the seller receives the returned item, we’ll refund the item cost to the buyer. (The original shipping fee isn't refunded.)
