Getting the price right

It can be tough to set your sale prices – but it pays to put some work into finding the sweet spot that will get that item out the door while netting you a tidy profit. Here’s a checklist to get you started.

Do your research

Check out similar items on Trunk to see how they’re priced. It’s worth noting how long each listing has been up – older listings might be priced too high.

Check your brand

Some brand pieces will command a higher price than others, even in a similar style. Do your research and adjust your price accordingly.

Discount for condition

You’ll also need to be realistic about how any wear or damage to your item will affect the price you can set. Again, checking other listings will help you get a feel for how much people are tending to discount due to their item condition.

Factor in the fees

Trunk’s sales fees are 10% of your sale – make sure you take that into account when setting your price, so that you get the profits you’re after.
